Budget for Russia 2018 World Cup doubles to nearly $20 billion

September 30 – Russia will spend a projected $19.2 million (£11.9 billion/€14.9 billion) on getting ready to host the FIFA World Cup in 2018, the country’s Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko revealed today.
