Yankees and Manchester City bite into new MLS franchise in the Big Apple

May 22 – A 20th MLS franchise has been announced for New York – New York City Football Club (NYCFC) – owned by Manchester City and the New York Yankees. The team is expected to make its league debut in 2015.
