AFDP targets nutrition programme at grassroots projects

April 26 – A campaign that seeks to tackle poor nutrition to enhance grassroots football, including amongst thousands of refugees in camps across northern Jordan, is the latest initiative of the Asian Football Development Project (AFDP).

With Jordan hosting this year’s women’s under-17 World Cup, a one-year partnership entitled One Goal has been signed between the AFDP, World Vision International and the Jordanian FA to further grow the game by encouraging young players to eat the right foods.

The AFDP has been running regular football programmes at the Zaatari Camp and surrounding refugee communities since 2012, in addition to women’s development programmes and grassroots projects in more than 15 countries across Asia.
