SC Freiburg fuels push for Bundesliga top flight with milk deal

April 27 – German club SC Freiburg who currently lead 2. Bundesliga will have a new main and short sponsor next season, whether they make it to the top flight or not.

In a deal negotiated by Infront Sports & Media, Schwarzwaldmilch, the Freiburg based cooperative dairy, will take over the shirt sponsorship from the 2016/17 season

In addition to the shirt position, the sponsorship package includes additional advertising exposure in camera view including static advertising boards, and LED boards. Schwarzwaldmilch will also activate a number of fan-based activities.

Andreas Schneider, Managing Director of Schwarzwaldmilch, explains: “Our roots are here in the Black Forest – today as much as in the past. We are proud to enter this partnership with the most likeable football club in Germany and the most successful football club in the region. This sponsorship will help to expand our market position by increasing local, regional and national awareness of our brand.”

SC Freiburg is the leading club in its region and has ambition to establish back in the Bundesliga’s top flight. It is currently in the early planning stages of a rebuild of its Wolfswinkel stadium which is publicly funded though operated by the club as tenants.
