Hart to start but is it the beginning of the end for England’s number 1

August 24 – England goalkeeper Joe Hart is set to play for Manchester City in tonight’s Champions League playoff round second leg against Steaua Bucharest but will it be his last game for the club?

Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, set to replace Hart in new manager Pep Guardiola’s first major controversial decision on playing staff, has flown into Manchester for a medical.

“I cannot deny what everyone knows. The deal is not complete. After I will answer about a player who at the moment is not our player,” Guardiola said of the 33-year-old Chilean’s arrival.

Hart has not played for City this season and it is reported that Guardiola, who took charge in the summer, has major reservations about  his ability to play as a kind of ‘sweeper-keeper’  which his  system demands.

With the end of the of the summer transfer window only a week away, there is now intense speculation about where Hart might end up. Everton were reported to be interested but Hart’s wage demands could put him beyond reach of a raft of potential buyers.
