Over-heated Mourinho collects another FA disciplinary charge

November 2- Jose Mourinho’s troubled start to his return to English football has taken another downward spiral after the Manchester United manager was handed a second charge in a week by the authorities, this time following his dismissal during Saturday’s 0-0 draw at home to Burnley when United had a record 37 shots at goal.

Mourinho, who was charged last Thursday over previous comments he made about a particular official’s suitability for taking charge of United’s fixture against Liverpool, earlier this season, is accused this time of using abusive or insulting words to the officials in or around the tunnel area at half-time.

Possible punishments include a warning, fine, touchline ban or stadium ban.

The former Chelsea manager appeared to be upset when United were not awarded a penalty during Saturday’s match. He emerged for the second half but was escorted to a seat in the stands before being moved a second time, this time to the directors’ box. He declined to speak to the media afterwards

United are eighth in the Premier League and without a win in their past four games and there is growing debate over the extent to which Mourinho’s behaviour is antagonising his employers in terms of damaging the club’s global image.
