Hyperion ensures Manchester and New York hook-up with CFG deal

January 31 – City Football Group, the holding company that owns Manchester City and New York City football clubs, has unveiled a new sponsor partnership with insurance group Hyperion that will cover both clubs, but not CFG’s other two clubs in Japan and Australia.

Hyperion is now designated the Official Regional Partner of Manchester City in the UK and the UAE and an Official Regional Partner of New York City FC, CFG’s high profile Major League Soccer team.

No figure was announced for the deal or the terms of the deal. Nor was there any information available on the length of the sponsorship.

City Football Group was already an insurance client of Hyperion. Now Hyperion is a sponsor partner of CFG.

Hyperion is the world’s largest majority employee-owned insurance group comprised of broking divisions Howden and RKH, and underwriting division DUAL.  The group employs over 3,800 people in 39 countries.

Hyperion CEO, David Howden said: “We are delighted to be an official partner of Manchester City and New York City FC.  The sports and entertainment market is an important, and growing, focus for us across the Group.  To be appointed as a partner by a globally recognised sports brand is a fantastic endorsement of our expertise; I am excited to work with the two clubs to explore the great opportunities this partnership will deliver.”
