Chelsea keep up pressure as Leicester high fly with tweets but plummet with new followers

February 15 – Chelsea are maintaining their Twitter surge and are now closing in on 8 million followers. This week they were again fourth in the growth chart with 51,500 new followers, just 3,800 behind Liverpool who they are more than 1.1 million ahead of in terms of overall followers.

Manchester United have over 10 million followers and last week added a further 75,300. It was a good week for Arsenal who grew by 70,300 new followers.

The gap to Manchester City in fifth place was more than 35,000 new followers this week.

The largest percentage growth went to Burnley with 2.11%, an increase of 4,700 new followers. The club are now 12th in the Premier League.

Leicester City tweeted the most this week with 356 tweets. But their plummet in Twitter form has matched their drop in league form. Although the club are getting within shouting distance of a million twitter followers, last week they managed just 1,000 and are bottom of the weekly ranking – despite their vocalness.
