AFC brings in member association gen secs for three-day powwow

April 4 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has gathered its member associations’ general secretaries for a three-day conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The conference is aimed at increasing co-operation and accelerating learning between the member associations and will include representation from FIFA with Chief Member Association Officer Joyce Cook, as well as head of AFC-UEFA Projects Alex Phillips.

The general secretaries will also meet key AFC staff as well be joined by Andreas Krannich, CEO of the AFC’s match-fixing monitoring and education partner Sportradar.

AFC General Secretary Dato’ Windsor John said: “It is an ideal opportunity for the exchange of ideas, best practice and views which will all help make our MAs stronger.

“Our Vision of being a world leading Confederation, while supporting our teams to perform at the highest level on the world stage and continuing to ensure that football is the leading sport in Asia is an ambitious one.

“And it is one that can only be delivered with the support of the MAs, who provide the backbone for the AFC. By bringing all the General Secretaries to Kuala Lumpur we have created an environment where they can understand and support the objectives of football in Asia.”
