Man Utd Tour 2017 keeps growing with addition of Dublin fixture

May 23 – Manchester United have added a seventh game to what is starting to look like a pre-season globetrotting marathon. They will play against Sampadoria in Dublin on August 2 at the Aviva stadium.

Man Utd’s Tour 2017 is sponsored by Aon and now includes five matches in the US – including the first Manchester derby to be played outside the city – as part of the Innternational Champions Cup, as well a trip to Norway to play Valerenga in Oslo at the end of July.

Man Utd will also play Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid in the US.

Manchester United’s Executive Vice Chairman, Ed Woodward, said: “The team has a good variety of games over the summer, playing in great stadiums and allowing a large number of our global family of fans to see live games across the world.

“The pre-season programme has been put together to ensure the manager and his squad have a great platform to prepare for next season with games against top class opposition.”

A great platform and a lot of money spinning matches before the club embark on an English league season that could also have the added pressure of the Champions League if Man Utd win their Europa League final in Stockholm against Ajax tomorrow.

Tickets for the match at the 51,000 seater stadium in Dublin went on sale today.
