Ronaldo takes to Twitter as Spanish sports court rules out ban appeal

August 23 – Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted furiously to his five-game ban for pushing a referee being upheld by Spain’s administrative sports court.

Having already accused the Spanish football federation (RFEF) of persecution after it refused to overturn the sanction, received for his ill-tempered reaction to being sent off in the first leg of the Supercup against Barcelona earlier this month, the Real Madrid superstar described the latest ruling as “one more incomprehensible decision.”

Real Madrid have now exhausted all appeal avenues and Ronaldo took to Twitter to express his outrage.

“Injustices that will never bring me down,” he wrote. “And as always I will come back stronger. Thank you to those who have supported me.”

Ronaldo received a one-match ban for two yellow cards and a further four for pushing the referee. He has already served two games of the punishment but will not return to domestic action until September 20 though he can play in the Champions League.
