September 18 – Chelsea returned to the top of the attendance capacity chart after their Sunday lunchtime London derby with Arsenal. Just 185 seats were unfilled at Stamford Bridge.

In contrast Tottenham Hotspur had more than 24,000 seats unfilled at Wembley for their draw with Swansea, filling the stadium to 72.63% of capacity. Spurs had 71% of possession in the 0-0 draw with Swansea.

Newcastle’s return to the top flight under Rafael Benitez is continuing to excite Newcastle fans who again filled St James Park with more than 50,000.

Of 32,000 unfilled seats across the 10 Premier League home fixtures, 24,600 were at Wembley. Apart from Spurs, the other nine home teams all sold more than 90% of their stadium capacity with six selling over 95%.

The Insideworldfootball figures are taken from the official stadium capacity and the official reported attendance by the club. No account is taken of seat kills for media or safety reasons, or stadium capacity reductions due to prior arrangements with the police.
