SCG pitch-in with enhanced partnership at expanding USL

September 26 – American second tier league the USL has named SCG Fields as the Official Field Builder. SCG will be an official supplier for the United Soccer League, USL’s Division III, the Premier Development League (PDL) and the Super Y League.

SCG will have a presence at the USL’s annual Winter Summit in December.

SCG designs and installs natural grass and synthetic turf sports pitches in all of the US major league sports (NFL, MLB, NCAA, and MLS), most recently completing the pitch at MLS side Minnesota United FC’s new stadium.

“As USL continues to grow and with the 2019 launch of our new Division III league, we are adding new stadiums and training grounds at an unprecedented rate,” said USL President Jake Edwards.  “SCG joins a rapidly growing portfolio of preferred suppliers, and will be an excellent resource for our clubs to ensure that their fields are installed with the highest quality.”

The USL will oversee the expansion of an estimated 30–40 new franchises at the second and third divisions of professional soccer over the next five years, all will need pitches and other services, opening up a big new market for sports suppliers.

As part of its licensing criteria the USL has a set of quality standards for companies that provide services and products to professional franchises and stadium developers. The USL says it “is currently in discussions with suppliers that support stadium development, as well as the buildout of team front offices and operations.”

“Our goal at SCG fields is to deliver the best playing fields, on time and on budget, that will meet the needs of every participant so that all members of both organizations may be proud of this partnership,” said SCG Chief Operating Officer Joseph Smith.

No commercial details were given for the SCG partnership.
