Real Madrid top player training rankings, Man Utd 5th, Man City nowhere to be seen

October 25 – Real Madrid and Barcelona top the ranking of Big-5 clubs that have trained the most footballers playing in the Big-5 European leagues on October 1. Manchester United rank 5th while PSG come in at 14th.

Interestingly Manchester City, the in-form team in the Premier League, do not even make the top 50.

Looking wider and including other teams in other leagues, Ajax easily come out on top with 71 players trained at the club active in the top 31 leagues across Europe. The Dutch team outranks Dinamo Zagreb (67) and Partizan Belgrad (61). Real Madrid have trained 58 players active across the 31 leagues.

The statistics from the CIES Football Observatory follow UEFA’s definition – training clubs are teams where players stayed for at least three years between the ages of 15 and 21.

CIES points out that “eight of the 41 footballers trained by the Spanish side still play at Real Madrid.” Internazionale at 6th in the Big-5 ranking with 23 players trained, have just one still at the club.
