December 20 – Tottenham Hotspur have signed a deal North East health and wellbeing company Mammoth Mattresses, who will become the Official Mattress and Pillow Supplier of the Premier League Club.
Mammoth’s mattresses and pillows will be installed at the new state-of-the-art, private player accommodation Lodge, which is due to open in 2018.
Dr Shabaaz Mughal, Head of Medical and Sports Science at Spurs, said: “We are always reviewing ways we can enhance the health and performance of our players to ensure they realise their full potential.
Mammoth has a long history of supplying elite athletes, including the British Athletes Commission over two Olympics.
Dr Jonathan Bloomfield, Resident Sleep Expert and Chief Education Director at Mammoth, said: “Sleep plays a critical role in recovery, helping athletes train for longer and perform better. By working with physiotherapists and human performance staff, we are helping them optimise their health through sleep and comfort.”
