February 1 – Tottenham Hotspur broke the Premier League attendance record for the second time this season with a crowd of 81,978 at Wembley Stadium to see them beat Manchester United.
Spurs, spending a year at Wembley Stadium while their new stadium is built on the site of their old, first broke the 10-year-old Premier League attendance record in Round 9 of fixtures in October with 80,827 fans for their 4-1 win over Liverpool.
That figure broke the previous Old Trafford record of 76,098 fans who watched Manchester United play Blackburn Rovers.
Across the Premier League for round 25 of mid-week fixtures attendances were again all above 90% of capacity, with seven clubs above 95%. The league average was 95.93%. Just 19,914 seats were unfilled but 8,022 of them were at Wembley that had seat restrictions in place.
West Ham topped the table, with Chelsea second. At the bottom of the table Southampton and Stoke City reflected their league form with both clubs having over 2,000 seats unfilled.
