Down but not out? Blatter considers suing FIFA in Switzerland

February 2 – Sepp Blatter may be yesterday’s man but says he is not yet resigned with being for ever tarnished with having broken ethics rules.

The former FIFA president says that despite having tried all possible avenues to clear his name, he has one more idea up his sleeve: taking legal action against organisation he headed for 17 years.

Blatter, currently in the midst of a six-year ban, lost an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport over a year ago but says his lawyers are considering whether to take any further action, most likely through the Swiss courts

“My aim is to look into the decision of FIFA’s Ethic Committee in view of informations, and even evidences that I have received …in connection with my suspension,” Blatter told Reuters via email. “We are working on this case – and looking forward for development.”
