June 6 – Italian giant Internazionale have opened three new academies, one in Slovakia and two more in China taking the number of Inter Academies in the world’s largest country to six.
The two new Inter Academy centres are in Jiangsu and Shenyang in the province of Liaoning.
Other centres are in Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu, as well as in Nanjing, in the province of Jiangsu, which is being further expanded.
Set up by Inter in collaboration with club owner Suning Sports, the club said “the aim of Inter Academy Jiangsu is to support the development of youth football in China, and particularly in the province. Here the branch in Nanjing will be the hub for a network of training centres, initially based in four other cities in the province – Wuxi, Yangzhou, Suzhou and Xuzhou – before increasing that number to ten over the coming years.”
Inter Academy Shenyang has been established in partnership with Shenyang Aomei Sports Culture Communication Co. Ltd.
Opening the project in Nanjing, Inter vice president Javier Zanetti, alongside Suning Sports Group vice-president Liu Jun, said: “This project is another step in the partnership between Inter and Suning Sports. The mutually beneficial sharing of expertise and experience between our two organisations has now been further strengthened and it can make a vital contribution to the growth of football in China.
Having opened the new projects in China, Zanetti jetted to Slovakia for the opening of Inter Academy IMAS Slovakia in Bratislava, the first Inter Academy to open in the country.
“I’m also very confident that our work here in Slovakia will be a success. We’re working with a professional partner capable of conveying the ethical, moral and sporting values vital for those involved in the Inter Academy to grow as people and players,” said Zanetti.
