PSG swap PMU for Unibet as betting partner in €3m deal

June 21 – French champions Paris-Saint-Germain have signed up Unibet as their official betting partner in a two-year deal worth €3 million.

The Kindred Group-owned online gambling company has signed a two-year deal that covers the European market, succeeding PMU as the Ligue 1 club’s gambling partner category.

Unibet will have branding at PSG’s home ground the Parc des Princes, as well as other digital inventory.

“We both share the same desire to win, a passion for the game and a steadfast commitment to ensuring our brands thrive in highly competitive markets,” said Marc Armstrong, sponsorship director of Paris Saint-Germain, said.

The betting company has a big stake in the game and about 70% of the platform’s online betting comes from football. “With Paris Saint-Germain, Unibet is looking to enhance its profile across the whole of Europe and offer consumers exclusive content that takes them as close as possible to the game,” Mathieu Drida, Kindred France general manager.

Last season PSG won the French league yet again, but they crashed out of the Champions League against Real Madrid in the round of 16, and so their quest for European glory continues. They replaced manager Unai Emery, who heads to Arsenal, with German coach Thomas Tuchel in a bid to renew their efforts on the continent.
