Inter tap into China’s fast growing sports tourism market with Lvmama deal

July 2 – Internazionale has unvelied Lvmama.com as the club’s Official China Travel Partner at a signing ceremony in the new Bellagio hotel in Shanghai, which was opened in June and is owned by the Suning Group which also owns the club.

The sports tourism industry is showing year-on-year growth rates of 30% in China, with most of the focus around football.

The deal with Lvmama.com will allow the web-based platform to develop football tours for Chinese fans and tourists including attending matches at the Saan Siro.

Inter’s chief revenue officer Michael Gandler said:“This partnership with LvMama is truly important for us. In addition to supporting the development of LvMama’s brand among our passionate Chinese fan base, LvMama will provide reciprocal value by bringing our long distance fans a step closer to the club.”

Suning has worked hard to promote Inter in China, opening academies and integrating the brand with its other football and retail holdings. This is now showing the fruit of creating a Chinese interest and fanbase in the Serie A club.

Li Qiuyan, Lvmama’s representative, said: “FC Internazionale Milano is one of the most important football clubs in the world and one of the most cherished here in China, this is a fundamental step for our internationalisation strategy.”
