Dafabet break Scottish records to extend Celtic shirt deal to 2025

August 6 – Celtic have announced the highest ever shirt sponsorship deal for a Scottish club with online bookmaker Dafabet. The new agreement will run until the end of the 2025 season.

The extended five-year contract, will follow on from the existing two years still to run on the current contract. Dafabet began its current deal with Celtic during the 2016-17 season. No figure has been announced for the deal which the club says is a Scottish record.

Celtic chief executive, Peter Lawwell said: “Celtic is currently in a terrific position on and off the field, achieving regular football success and with an infrastructure of strength and stability. Celtic continues to be one of the world’s great football clubs and through these strong fundamentals we continue to be able to attract and deliver such quality partnerships…Agreements such as the one we announce today allow us to look forward with confidence as we strive to ensure Celtic maintains its position as the biggest and best in Scottish football.”

Celtic have had a dominating run of success in the Scottish Premier League and Cups in recent seasons, even by the club’s own winning standards.

John Cruces, head of sports marketing and sponsorship at Dafabet, said: “Our connection to Celtic has already been fantastic for us and even with two years still to run on our existing partnership, it was a relationship we were eager to continue.

“We could not have envisaged how well the last two years would have been for us, with the Invincible first season, then a second successive treble last year.

“The number of records broken and club firsts, have brought so much joy to all connected with the club. Being on the front of the famous iconic Celtic shirt during this time brought us as much pride as it does to the Celtic supporters, who are some of the best and most passionate in the game.”
