CSL title sponsor Ping An activates youth project with Jiangsu Suning

September 4 – Chinese Super League main sponsor Ping An Insurance has expanded its club football activity in Jiangsu, Nanjing, via a youth scheme in collaboration with Jiangsu Suning Football Club. 

Jiangsu Suning’s owners also own Italy’s Internazionale which has been making inroads into China with their own Inter Academy projects – there are now seven in China and Hong Kong.

This project with Ping An comes under the insurance company’s football activation programme (roughly translated) ‘Ping An of China + Football Charity Agenda’. The programme saw a similar project launched with Chinese Super League club Beijing Sinobo Guoan in Beijing in October 2017.

Jiangsu Suning have partnered with a Ping An Hope School in Tongshan county, Xuzhou, Jiangsu, in an initiative that will see 24 young players, including 12 students from the Tongshan Ping An Hope School, train at a Jiangsu Suning summer football camp.

Ping An renewed its title sponsorship of the Chinese Super League (CSL) in May 2017 in a 5-year deal worth 1 billion RMB ($145 million).

Ping An hav been the title sponsors of the CSL since 2014, paying an initial $87 million for a 4-year deal and becoming the first main sponsor of the CSL from the financial sector and the

CSL’s most lucrative Chinese sponsorship deal to date.

As well as sponsoring the CSL and working with clubs, Ping An has also contributed to the government’s campus football initiative with insurance coverage worth $14.6 million to the China Youth Development Foundation.
