PSG takes a big jump into fashion retailing with Jordan Brand collection

September 14 – French Ligue1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have teamed up with basketball legend Michael Jordan and his fashion label Jordan Brand to launch and exclusive clothing collection.

Although PSG’s kit supplier is Nike, the new collection with Jordan Brand will have more than 90 performance, training and lifestyle products created, with the Jumpman, replacing the Nike swoosh, featuring on PSG home and away shirts during their Champions League campaign.

A year in planning, the new collection “will boost the club’s visibility worldwide, especially in Asia and North America,” said a club press release.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Chairman & CEO at Paris Saint-Germain said: “The collaboration between Paris Saint-Germain and Jordan underlines the ambition of both brands to combine performance, innovation and style. It is a logical next step in our project to make Paris Saint-Germain one of the biggest global sports brands, capitalising on the avant-garde approach of our Parisian roots.”

Jordan is already embedded with Nike and the Jordan brand hook-up is an extension of that deal as the club looks to engage new audiences and fans. The new PSG collection will be distributed in the Nike/Jordan stores as well as PSG online and official stores, including the new boutique opened with Edifice in Tokyo.

“Jordan Brand and Paris Saint-Germain share a distinct position in sport and style, so to partner with the club is a natural fit. We’re excited to unite these two passionate communities by putting the Jumpman on the chest of Paris Saint-Germain to continue fuelling the energy for sport and style globally,” said Jordan.
