Lucky number 7. Coca-Cola add final fizz to Premier League sponsor roster

September 17 – The Premier League have signed their seventh partner to complete their sponsorship. Coca-Cola GB have joined in a multi-brand three-and-a-half year deal starting January 2019.

The drinks giant joins Barclays, Carling, Cadbury, Nike, Tag Heuer and EA Sports in the Premier League’s elite sponsor group. Coca-Cola will use the sponsorship for its leading Coke brand as well as water, fruit and other sparkling soft drinks including low and zero sugar options.

As part of their package, Coca-Cola will activate with a a nationwide Premier League Trophy Tour.

“We are excited that this is Coca-Cola Great Britain’s first portfolio-wide partnership and they will be bringing it to life across a range of brands,” said Richard Masters, Managing Director of the Premier League.

“We know from their previous campaigns in sport they are excellent at communicating to fans across the globe and they have some exciting ideas – including a nationwide Trophy Tour – that will see the League benefit from their huge reach in the UK and across the world.”

Coca-Cola sponsors the football World Cup and the Olympic Games and sponsored the EFL Championship for six years until 2010.
