September 25 – He may have been conspicuous by his absence from any of the awards handed out by FIFA at their Best ceremony last night, but the world’s most expensive player has managed to stay on his financial feet to launch his own mobile game – Match MVP Neymar Jr.
Built and marketed in collaboration with Sweden-based sports gaming studio Like A Boss, Match MVP Neymar Jr. is a free to download, multiplayer mobile football game that allows player vs player matchups in real time.
The gamer creates their own player, starting out as a rookie and working their way up to superstar status, while playing against other players from all over the world. Neymar Jr. acts as the gamer’s mentor. Neymar Sr. even gets in on the act with a cameo as an agent that helps gamers secure contracts with the top clubs.
The game is available to download in iOS and Android app stores.
“Since I was a kid, I always liked football games. I was delighted by the possibility of being part of a game, not as an “athlete” but as a coach. The game is also different because you play as yourself, not as a famous player or in real-life leagues. Match MVP is a challenge to keep developing and conquering games for victory. And to make the game even cooler, there’s the Neymar Jr. Institute as a scenario within the training mode with my Dad as the manager,” said Nemar Jr.
