Arsenal expand deal with Konami; Countinho and Beckham take PES2019 cover positions

September 27 – Premier League Arsenal have expanded their deal with video game maker Konami Digital Entertainment into a second year. Konami is the club’s Official Football Video Game Partner.

Konami launches its PES 2019 game version on 28th September 28 – the same day EA Sports’ FIFA 19 goes on sale. The Arsenal announcement comes pre-launch and highlights a number of enhancements to in-game graphics of both the club’s first team players and the Emirates Stadium which will benefit from 3D scanning. The enhanced scanning “will not only capture the visual likenesses of the first team players but will also imitate their movements, playing styles and tactical capabilities,” said a Konami press release.

For PES 2019 former club legends will feature in the game for the first time. Konami provided a preview via a recent exhibition match between Arsenal Legends and Real Madrid legends.

“We are excited to be offering our fans the opportunity to experience both the players and Emirates Stadium so accurately within the game once again this year, while also having the unique opportunity to call on some legends in our proud history to bring the game to life,” said Vinai Venkatesham, Chief Commercial Officer of Arsenal

“Arsenal is one of the biggest and most successful clubs in world football, so we are thrilled to be continuing our partnership with them,” said Jonas Lygaard, Senior Director Brand & Business Development at Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. “KONAMI is dedicated to working with the biggest clubs in the world, and with a history such as Arsenal’s and the talent they have on display within their current squad, we are doing just that.”

Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho is PES 2019’s new global ambassador and features on the front cover of the standard edition, while David Beckham is the cover picture on a special edition which gives fans the opportunity to unlock myClub bonuses.
