Back to the future: Huddersfield Town goes parimutuel with new Football Pools deal

September 28 – Pools betting was once a staple of football club finance. The low stakes, parimutuel results prediction ‘bet’ even eight years ago still saw 600,000 people a week in the UK fill in a pools coupon on paper.

Premier League Huddersfield Town are bringing pools betting back to the club for the 2018/19 season with a branded Football Pools product available at TerrierPools.com or via a soon to be launched app.

Players, for £1, have to pick 10 score draws from the English and Scottish professional leagues weekend fixture schedule – the traditional pools game format which for the upcoming weekend lists 48 matches. Winners will receive up to £3 million on each game, while ‘near win’ cash prizes will also be paid out.

Huddersfield Town supporters will also be able to win exclusive club prizes including ‘money can’t buy’ experiences.

The Football Pools has pledged that for every £1 spent through TerrierPools.com, it will donate 30p into local community causes.
