Alex Morgan scores Concacaf hat-trick, Hirving Lozano wins men’s player of year award

January 16 – American Alex Morgan has been named Concacaf’s female player of the year for third consecutive season. It is the fourth time she has won the award. Mexico’s Hirving Lozano won the 2018 Male Players of the Year.

This is the sixth time Concacaf has run its awards which are voted for by national team head coaches, national team captains, media and fans.

Morgan led the United States Women’s National Team unbeaten to the 2018 Concacaf Women’s Championship. The 29-year-old played a major part in her team’s qualification for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, by scoring seven goals and winning the tournament’s Golden Boot.
