LaLiga becomes official partner of World Cup organisers Beach Soccer Worldwide

February 25 – Beach Soccer Worldwide, organisers of FIFA’s Beach Soccer World Cup, have signed LaLiga as an Official Global Partner until the end of the 2020/2021 season.

As a part of this agreement, LaLiga will become the Spanish broadcaster of all competitions organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW), through its streaming channel LaLigaSportsTV.

LaLiga will have branding at all BSWW events globally and will generate beach soccer content focussed on Spanish clubs and the national team. The first event to be covered will be the Mundialito of Clubs, which will be held between February 27 to  March 3 at the

Megasport Sport Palace in Moscow.

Spanish club champions Levante UD, will be competing against Lokomotiv Moscow, Sporting Clube de Portugal, Brazil’s Flamengo, Belarusians Bate Borisov, Italy’s Catania, current European champions SC Braga from Portugal, as well as hosts Spartak Moscow.

Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, said: “Beach soccer offers a great opportunity for us to continue supporting the sport and offer them a way for their audiovisual content to reach as many fans as possible. Not only is it a sport that is part of the great football family, but it is also a young and fresh game, through which we can reach new audiences.”

Beach Soccer was incorporated as an official FIFA discipline in 2004 and Barcelona-based BSWW has organised every World Cup since.

Joan Cuscó, president of BSWW, said: “For us it is a great satisfaction and a source of pride to have LaLiga as a travel companion, since few sports brands enjoy the prestige and presence that LaLiga holds in the community of football fans. Going hand in hand with the best national football competition that exists in the world today is something of great value to us, and we are convinced that both parties will be very happy with the performance of this agreement.”
