May 20 – Germany’s Bundesliga has extended its official match ball deal with Derbystar, now taking the partnership through to the end of the 2021-22 season.
Derbystar will introduce its new Bundesliga Brillant APS ball on July 26 when Bundelsiga2 kicks off.
While only at the end of its first official season with the Bundesliga, the German brand, now part of the Select Sports Group, currently provides official match balls for 10 top tier European leagues.
While a brand that will not be immediately recognised across European markets, it does have a German history having been present in the 1970-71 season via a number of club partnerships, while in the 1979-80 season, all 306 Bundesliga matches were played with Derbystar balls.
