Euro 2020 ticket demand tops 19.3m requests

July 17 – UEFA received a mammoth 19.3 million requests for tickets during the opening sales window for Euro 2020 tickets, shattering the previous record of 11m from EURO 2016.

The competition is set to be the biggest European Championships ever, with three million tickets available across the 12 host cities.

Half of them were made available during the first sales window and UEFA say they have been inundated. The final at Wembley has received 1.3 million ticket requests, while the two semi-finals at the same venue have attracted a combined 1.5 million applications.

Demand for tickets among local fans is highest in London, St Petersburg and Budapest.

The next phase of ticket sales will begin in December after the final tournament draw takes place on November 30, with 1 million tickets on offer for fans of participating nations.
