November 12 – UEFA has announced Takeaway.com as an official partner of the Euro 2020 championship, no value has been given for the deal which will the online food delivery service designated as the ‘Official Food Delivery Services Partner’.
Takeaway.com will have rights to stadium advertising, a unique player escort experience for children and ticket promotion opportunities for the delivery service’s affiliated restaurants. UEFA said that is making available the opportunity “to win thousands of tickets”.
Takeaway.com currently serves 16.7 million customers in 11 countries covering a number of nations who could compete at Euro 2020, as well as host cities, including Amsterdam, Bucharest and Munich.
The sponsorship will increase the brand’s European recognition and presumably drive an expansion into more European markets. “The UEFA Euro 2020 sponsorship will add to our reach and will further establish Takeaway.com as a leading European household brand. It’s a unique opportunity to reach the entire population, around the time when fans are enjoying their favourite food,” said Jitse Groen, CEO of Takeaway.com.
