January 23 – UEFA is tendering for solutions to fulfil four key technology service areas for its competitions from 2021, including men’s and women’s club and national team competitions.
The areas UEFA is opening up is for suppliers who can technologies that deliver:
- Video Assistant Referee (VAR);
- Goal Line Technology (GLT);
- Player Performance Tracking Data (EPTS); and
- Coaching and Medical Review AV Feed Services.
The confederation said it would look at both individual supplier and consortiums with prospective solutions having to deliver high percentages of accuracy and reliability to meet UEFA’s operational expectations.
Unlike its rights tenders, UEFA is handling the process internally with a deadline for expressions of interest set for January 31. UEFA will then invite selected interested parties to Nyon in March to present their solutions.
