Leicester builds on its Thai commitments with one-year tourist board deal

July 27 – Leicester City have announced a one-season partnership with Tourism Authority of Thailand to launch the ‘Thailand Smiles With You’ campaign and promote the country as a tourist destination as it recovers from the effects of the pandemic.

No value was given for the deal that was announced alongside the club’s ownership group and main shirt sponsor King Power, who will donate a significant part of its sponsorship inventory to the campaign.

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Leicester City Chairman and CEO of King Power International, said: “This campaign is our opportunity to make a difference in Thailand, where tourism contributes significantly to the nation’s economy and, as a result, the livelihoods of millions of Thai people.

“The relationship between King Power and Leicester City has been such a powerful vehicle for success for our entire organisation in the last 10 years. I’m extremely proud to make the power of that relationship available to the Tourism Authority of Thailand in the 2020/21 season.”

Leicester City players debuted the Thailand Smiles With You brand on their shirts with the final game of the 2019-20 season yesterday that saw Manchester United win 2-0 at the King Power Stadium and edge Leicester out of Champions League qualification spots for the 2020-21 season.

Leicester’s new shirt for next season had gone on sale today to fans with a limited number having the Thailand Smiles With You logo. Adult shirt prices have been frozen at £55.
