Coronavirus: Man City’s Gundogan positive in latest round of testing

September 22 – With the number of cases of Coronavirus spiking across the UK, three new positive Covid-19 cases have been confirmed following the latest round of English Premier League testing.

A total of 1,574 players and club staff were tested in the third batch to take place during the new 2020-21 season. Three of those came back positive.

While the Premier League did not identify the personnel in question, one of the positive tests is known to have been recorded by German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, with Manchester City confirming the news via their website on Monday.

Gundogan is now set to isolate for 10 days and missed Monday’s 3-1 win at Wolverhampton.
