Inter Miami sign AutoNation stadium naming rights deal

April 13 – MLS side Inter Miami have secured a three-year stadium rights naming deal with US car retailer AutoNation. The agreement will also branding on first team training kits.

AutoNation will activate the deal with its cancer awareness initiative that will see Inter Miami’s 18,000-seater interim stadium in Fort Lauderdale renamed the DRV PNK Stadium.

As part of the sponsorship AutoNation is sponsoring the club’s ‘Saves’ feature, which will see donations of up to $100,000 towards cancer research annually for every stop made by an Inter Miami goalkeeper.

The agreement includes TV and digital exposure, as well branding of the Inter Miami Digital Live Stream via the Inter Miami App and Inter Miami’s Spanish language streaming. In Inter Miami’s inaugural season, more than 60% of website traffic came from Latino dominant cities across the US, said the club. 34% of Inter Miami’s registered mobile app users identified themselves as being of Hispanic/Latino descent.

“DRV PNK Stadium is about raising awareness of a proven mission that has raised over $26 Million in the fight against cancer. Our partnership with Inter Miami, one of the most dynamic fútbol clubs, will raise awareness and help fund cancer research. It allows for our collective support of organizations like the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Cleveland Clinic, and Moffitt Cancer Center at the national and local levels,” said Marc Cannon, AutoNation’s EVP and Chief Customer Experience Officer.

Inter Miami open their second MLS season against LA Galaxy April 18 at the newly branded DRV PNK Stadium. The club will eventually move to a new stadium at Miami Freedom Park which is due for completion in 2022.

In July Inter Miami’s stadium will host a week of preliminary knockout matches that will qualify the final three nations for the 2021 Gold Cup.
