Norwegian players caught partying on stadium security cameras

August 17 – Players of SK Brann held a raunchy late-night party at their stadium, but were caught on security cameras, leaving the club red faced.

Local newspaper Bergens Tidende revealed that 12 players from SK Brann invited four women back to their home ground after a boozy night out.

Members of the team went to an Italian restaurant before continuing at a nightclub and then taking a trip to the 17,000-capacity Brann Stadion, where they reportedly left phones outside the ground to ensure that no one would film the grand finale of their evening out, but they were caught by security cameras.

Club captain Daniel Pedersen said: “Now we just have to lie down and apologise for what has happened. The only thing we can do now is deliver some good performances in the next match.”

“This should never have happened. It is the first time in my career I have experienced such a case.”

Brann are bottom of the Norwegian top flight and the club vowed to take action against the partying players, but such was the scale of the unique team-building event that it has been reported that the sheer number of players involved means suspensions would leave the team without much of its senior personnel.

SK Brann’s general manager also condemned the behaviour of his players. Vibeke Johannesen said:  “It was not permitted by the club. They have drunk alcohol, been to the stadium and had the party. It is very serious and we have taken it up with them.”

“This must disappoint their team-mates and all of us who work in the club. This is not how we want to appear as a club, and it was not right.”

Not all is lost however. The club won their latest match against Sanderfjord 3-2, but still remain bottomof the league.
