Man City launch second NFT digital artwork drop

September 3 – Manchester City have announced a second NFT drop of digital artwork following the club’s first foray into the area in May with artist Jon Noorlander, who created a piece to mark their Premier League title win.

The new Man City NFT sees launch of the Creation collection, produced by mixed media artist Alan Bolton which comprises three pieces – The Football Laboratory, The Football Academy and To The Blue Moon – which depict an abstract representation of the process of creating the perfect footballer.

NFTs are digital assets and collectibles whose authenticity and ownership is verified, and secured on blockchain. NFT owners can sell or trade their pieces.

The NFTs will be available for purchase from Tuesday September 7 on MakersPlace.

Don Dransfield, chief strategy officer at City Football Group said: “We are incredibly pleased to be following up our first NFT drop with a new and exciting digital art collection. This further advance in NFTs and progression of our strategy within the sector demonstrates our ongoing commitment to sustainable innovation.

“The NFT world is moving incredibly quickly and we are eager to continue to work and collaborate with talented creators to create original artwork for fans and collectors to own through blockchain technology.”
