Nubank agrees regional sponsorship for Qatar 2022 World Cup

November 19 – South America’s Nubank has become the latest regional sponsor of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the world governing body announced on Thursday.

The partnership will cover South America and allow the bank access to tournament tickets, brand assets and archive content to engage with fans across the region and promote both its brand and the global finals.

“FIFA and Nubank both believe in the power of sport to bring people together,” said FIFA Director of Commercial Revenues Nick Brown. “Like all FIFA World Cups, the tournament in 2022 will be a fantastic celebration of football. We are excited to work together with Nubank to bring the joy of a FIFA World Cup to the South American market and unite fans in the region.”

FIFA divides sponsors or so-called partners into three different categories: FIFA partners, FIFA World Cup sponsors, and regional supporters. At the last global finals, Alfabank was among the partners in the third tier of the sponsorship structure. For next year’s tournament, FIFA has already teamed up with GWC, UPL Ltd and Ooredoo as regional supporters.

“At Nubank, we do things differently, and this will be no exception,” said Nubank Chief Marketing Officer Arturo Núñez. “Our goal is that, in every corner of South America, people will feel and live the excitement of the FIFA World Cup.”

No value for the partnership was given.
