Clubs line up for Christmas crackers as Chelsea top Round 18 attendance chart

December 22 – With round 19 fixtures starting tonight with Liverpool’s visit to Arsenal for a Friday night early Christmas cracker, the halfway point of the Premier League season is passed. Round 18 fixtures saw another week of full grounds with all home clubs reporting attendance of more than 92% of their total capacity.

The Christmas football period now begins in earnest with most clubs reporting all fixtures sold out. Clubs will have played six Premier League fixtures in December by the end of the month, with some have also played a Carabao Cup tie. The appetite of the English for top flight club football is not diminishing.

Chelsea topped the attendance capacity chart for Round 18 with just 101 unfilled seats, they were followed by Leicester City and Man City.

West Brom were the bottom club again with 2,068 empty seats at The Hawthorns.

By the mid-point of the season Premier League clubs had sold over 6.7 million tickets. Just 377,000 seats have been unfilled over the 180 matches played.

The Insideworldfootball attendance figures are based on the official stadium capacities and the official reported match day attendance figures. Now allowances are taken for stadium seat reductions dues to safety measures or media requirements.
