eFootball: DFL agrees TV deal with ProSiebenSat.1 for VBL Club Championship

December 20 –Germany’s DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga has agreed a broadcast deal with the ProSiebenSat.1 Group to air the federation’s new launch eFootball VBL Club Championship.

Free TV channel ProSieben MAXX will show one match a week, which will be recorded as a featured match in a specially developed eSports studio for broadcast on TV.  Live streaming will be on ran.de and prosiebenmaxx.de.

The VBL Club Championship starts Januayr 17 and runs through to March 17. Each fixture comprises three single games – two in one-on-one mode and the third in two-on-two mode.

ProSieben MAXX will air nine featured matches, one every Thursday at 8:15pm, and as well as the action will be supported by a rotating cast of commentators and experts. Highlights of other fixtures will also be shown.

The season has a total of 21 match days, with 11 fixtures on each match day – a total of 231 fixtures with a total of 693 single games. The first featured match sees SV Werder Bremen taking on RB Leipzig.
