LiveScore Group to expand with £50m investment from Ringier

September 7 – LiveScore Group, who have driven their footprint in the football market with the real time delivery of match scores globally, has taken a £50 million investment from Swiss media and technology giant Ringier, valuing the LiveScore business at £500 million.

From the consumer traffic driven by the LiveScore brand, the company has pushed the growth of its sports gaming businesses – LiveScore Bet and Virgin Bet.

LiveScore has annual revenue of about £100 million. No detail was given for the structure of the Ringier deal.

Ringier, who recently created Ringier Sports Media Group to move deeper into the sports business, and LiveScore, described the deal as a “strategic investment”.

Operational focus of the new partnership will on growing LiveScore’s business in central and eastern European market, key strengths of Ringier’s sports assets and where Ringier owns the Sportal Media Group and Digital Ventures OOD in Bulgaria, Gazeta Sporturilor in Romania,  and Sportal.rs in Serbia.

LiveScore, based in London, has demonstrated rapid growth over the past three years and with Ringier will have the power to take further expansion steps around its core offerings in the sports, and in particular, football consumer market.
