October 27 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is staging its latest edition of the Football Management Certificate (FMC), an online programme aimed at educating the next generation of football officials on the continent.
The programme brings together 46 participants of the AFC’s member associations and regional associations as well as independent stakeholders.
In launching the programme, AFC Deputy General Secretary – Member Associations Vahid Kardany said: “The overwhelming response from across all the five AFC zones is a clear indication of the progress and success of the FMC.
“The responsibility of continuing this proud legacy now falls on the shoulders of participants of our fourth FMC edition. It is their duty to embody the values of professionalism and good governance that have become synonymous with the AFC in the last decade.”
The programme comprises 290 hours of study in nine core modules that must develop the participants’ core skillset in management and football operations. Participants will also have to present business projects and keep up to date with best practices in the industry.
The modules include Organisation of World Football, Strategic Management, Financial Management, Income Generation, Media & Communications, Event Management, Operational Management, Human Resource Management and Child Safeguarding.
The programme was first launched in 2021 and is designed to strengthen the member associations’ administration levels.
