Konyaspor builds on its facilities with city support

June 1 – Turkey’s Konyaspor is further expanding its facilities with the two new training pitches being added to the club’s training complex.

Konyaspor has one of the most modern stadiums in Turkey, which was built between 2012 and 2014, has a seating capacity of 42,000 and is fully covered. The Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium is also used by the Turkish national team.

The new training facilities are being built with the help of the Municipality of Konya, announced the mayor of the city, Uğur İbrahim Altay. The new pitches will have state-of-the-art technology and will be used by Konyaspor’s football team.

The mayor said the city will continue to invest in infrastructure projects. “We will continue to do whatever it takes for our team to train under better conditions and be successful”, said Altay.

“The four fields in the Kayacık Facilities of our Konyaspor were no longer sufficient. As a municipality, we are adding two more grass fields to the facilities. We make one of the fields with a wire fence and the other with a windbreak. The construction of the drainage and irrigation systems continues. In addition, there will be a 250-ton water tank for irrigation of the fields, and 4 lighting poles with a height of 20 meters for each field. We will continue to do our best to train our team in better conditions and to be successful. Good luck to our team and our city,” he added.
