June 18 – The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) has launched its Sport Transparency Index, a benchmarking tool to assess transparency and good governance across the European Sport ecosystem.

The Index focuses on European Sport Stakeholders, from professional clubs to leagues, national federations and international governing bodies. In its first iteration the Index ranks almost 650 organisations, predominantly from Germany, Italy, France and Spain.

June 18 – FIFA’s expanded Club World Cup is attracting more attention over the thousands of empty seats in stadia across the US than the football that is being played.

June 18 – Former Premier League referee David Coote’s spectacular fall from grace has taken another turn for the worse, with the Football Association now charging him over comments he made about former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp in July 2020. Because apparently, his career wasn’t quite dead enough already.
