The Azteca Stadium in Mexico City is, of course, their spiritual home; however, in Los Angeles – where they roared to victory over the Dominican Republic – and tonight in the heart of Texas at AT&T Stadium in Arlington versus Suriname, the team is welcomed by partisan support and rapturous anticipation.

Platini returns to CAS in final attempt to overturn his ban

March 2 – As widely anticipated, Michel Platini has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against his suspension from football-related activity as he seeks to annul the sanction upheld by the FIFA appeal committee last week but reduced from eight to six years.

Moshiri dumps Arsenal shares to buy Everton stake

February 29 – Everton will have a new major shareholder after Iranian-British billionaire Farhad Moshiri on Friday sold his shares in Red and White Holdings to his business partner Alisher Usmanov before it was announced on Saturday that he would be acquiring 49.9% of Everton, conditional on Premier League approval.
