April 19 – In a nationwide probe named ‘Operação Penalidade Máxima’, a number of top flight matches are under investigation for cases of suspected match-fixing in Brazil, prosecutors said on Tuesday.

US to kick off 2023 Gold Cup at Soldier Field, Mexico open hostilities in Houston, as title chase hits 14 cities in 22 days

April 19 – The USA kick off the group stages of the 2023 Gold Cup at the 63,000-capacity Solder Field in Chicago on June 24 against Jamaica. The US are looking to defend the title won in 2021 against Mexico. In 2019 the US lost at Soldier Field in the final to Mexico.
