England fans can use vaccine ‘passports’ at Euro 2020 opener against Croatia

June 9 – Fans attending England’s opening Euro 2020 match against Croatia on Sunday will be the first at a sporting event in Britain to have the option of using vaccine passports to prove they are at low risk of transmitting Covid-19.

Boycott talks off as Brazil players set to commit to Copa America at home

June 8 – Brazil won’t boycott the Copa America on home soil despite the team’s players expected release of a statement today (Tuesday) expressing their criticism at the way organisers and the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) have pressed ahead with the tournament in the pandemic-stricken country.

June 8 – In a potentially significant twist to the European Super League fallout, Spanish media are reporting that the Swiss Ministry of Justice has barred both UEFA and FIFA – which are based in Switzerland – from taking premature sanctions against the aborted league’s remaining founder members.

The United States overcame Mexico 3-2 in extra time in the final of Concacaf’s inaugural Nations League, a competition that began in 2019, but finished with all the theatrics and drama that will concrete this sport into the North American psyche.
