As deaths mount UK government encourages Premier League return to ‘lift spirits’

May 6 – The impact of the coronavirus on football’s transfer market is going to be seismic in terms of player value with one analysis calculating a decrease in total player value across 10 of Europe’s leading leagues of between €6.6 billion and €10 billion, depending on whether the season restarts or is cancelled.

May 5 – As the country prepares to become the first of the Big Five leagues in Europe to resume playing, German football authorities say there have been 10 positive results from 1,724 tests for COVID-19 carried out among players and staff of the 36 clubs in the top two divisions.
