Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, California

Situated just west of the much larger city of San Jose in the San Francisco Bay Area, Levi’s stadium has been the home of NFL team San Franciso 49ers since 2014, when the stadium first opened.

The stadium is 40 miles south of San Francisco.

Levi’s Stadium will host multiple matches during the 2026 World Cup.

Designed as an open stadium with a natural grass field, it has a seating capacity of 68,500, expandable to approximately 75,000 to host major events like the World Cup.

In July 2016, Levi’s Stadium converted 6,500 square feet (600 m2) of the green roof to an organically maintained rooftop farm.

The stadium has regularly hosted soccer matches, particularly pre-season friendlies featuring big name European teams that can fill the stadium.

In June 2016 Levi’s Stadium hosted four games at the Copa America Cententario –  the opening match between the US and Colombia, two other group stage matches and a quarter-final where Chile defeated Mexico.

In 2017 the stadium hosted the final of the Gold Cup where the US beat Jamaica 2-1.

Later this summer the stadium will host a Barcelona vs Juventus friendly.
